KP rules out Maoist's Government

Our colleagues mistook terrorists for political party: Oli

BIRATNAGAR, SEP 23 -

Senior CPN-UML leader KP Sharma Oli Thursday flatly ruled out the possibility of formation of a new government under the leadership of the UCPN (Maoist) regardless of any agreements. He claimed that the Maoist cannot form a new government as they are looking for an opportunity to seize the sate power in the extended period of the Constituent Assembly (CA).

Leader Oli claimed the three-point agreement signed between the Maoist leaders and the UML leaders cannot be put into practice.

Saying that some of the leaders of his party have failed to recognize the Maoists, leader Oli said, “It is weakness on the part of our colleague to recognize the killers.”

The UML leader came down heavily upon the Maoists in the wake of warming ties between the Maoists and the CPN-UML.

Opening the national campaign on ‘timely constitution and peace’ organised in Biratnagar by Youth Association Nepal today, Oli held the Maoists responsible for the failure to draft the new constitution in the two-year term of the CA. He remarked the new constitution won’t be drafted even within the remaining eight months period due to the Maoists.

Oli, a vocal critic of the Maoists, said the Maoists have become leaders with the backing of arms and they have not transformed themselves into a political party yet.

“The group engaged in killing unarmed people and capturing others’ property cannot be a political party but looters,” said the UML leader.

He went on to claim that the Maoist is trying to militarise the party in the name of democratization of Army. He remarked that the monarchs and kings, in the past, had imposed dictatorship in the name of god now the Maoists are trying to capture state power in the name of people.

He alleged that some of our leaders occupying top most position in the party failed to openly protest the murder of honest cadre like Chabi Karki.

Also in the programme, UML politburo member Urmil Aryal remarked the Maoist-led government cannot be imagined due to lack of change in their behaviour and attitude.
