Maoists will secure two-thirds majority in next poll : Prachanda

KATHMANDU, SEP 20 -

UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has claimed on Sunday that his party would garner a two-thirds majority in the general elections to be held after the promulgation of the new constitution. He claimed that the other parties are plotting against his party fearing the Maoists’ victory in the upcoming election.

Speaking at a program organised at the party headquarters in Parishdanda, the Maoist leader said time has come to introduce the Nepali revolution to the world by forging a unity among the revolutionary forces. The programme was organised to welcome new entrants to the Maoist by deserting the Nava Janabadi Morcha (NJM).

Dahal reiterated that the 3-point agreement signed with the CPN-UML, the decision to extend the tenure of United Nation Mission in Nepal (UNMIN) and bring the issue of integration under the special committee has send a positive message among the people.

While informing that the Maoist will move ahead by forging a new agreement with the NC, Dahal claimed all conspiracies aimed at dissolving the CA would be foiled.

About two dozen former NJM cadres, including its vice-president Dina Nath Bhandari, joined the Maoists today.
